Web Based ELearning in Computer Hardware

Computer technology, internet and web-based resources are now in many schools and offer teachers and learners vast resources and opportunities for teaching and learning. In the context of this study, a computer technology resource is used as a general term referring to any computer, internet and web-based resource that can be used in the instruction.

This eLearning project is an online-based classroom management system. The system can be installed in a standalone computer, in local area networks or even accessible via World Wide Web. The researchers used the waterfall approach model in developing this system wherein the development team goes ahead to the next stage of development, only after the previous stage is fully accomplished.

The main objective of the study was to design and develop an online eLearning system that is accessible in the internet to make the lesson understandable and investigate its effects on students’ attitudes and achievements.

The researchers used the Waterfall Approach Model. In this sequentially structured approach, the development team goes ahead to the next stage of development, only after the previous stage is fully accomplished.

The researchers make the necessary preparation to develop an online learning system. In order for the researchers to develop the system, the researchers used different procedures such as casual interviews, used of online articles and preparation of study material that are related to the study.

The researchers created a design based on the result of the survey and users suggestions for the system to be developed. Different testing was conducted such as unit testing, integration testing, system testing, expert/final testing and users’ acceptance/final testing.

REQUIREMENTS ANALYSIS AND DOCUMENTATION

The researchers make the necessary preparation to develop an ONLINE LEARNING System. In order for the researchers to develop ONLINE LEARNING System, the researchers used different procedures to attain that objective. Included here are the casual interviews where the researchers ask some questions to the IT instructor about the traditional way of teaching and what would be the effect of it to the students. Query was made if this kind of teaching is effective in motivating the students. We establish basis to learn its disadvantages and advantages, and what are the suggestions and recommendations of the instructor due to this type of teaching. The researcher was directed by the objectives of the study and by the framework that serves as basis of the step by step process in acquiring result of the investigation. Through the review of related literature, the researcher has gleaned overview of what has been studied by key writers and previous researchers that give insight regarding the prevailing theories, and hypothesis and methodologies.

Through the use of online articles like blogs and early research of the topic; the researchers were able to understand more of the need to carry out the study and the impact of this in addressing current problems pertinent to this area.

Next is the preparation of the study materials. The materials being prepared are Documents, Presentation, Modules, Movie Clips, and downloaded materials from the internet which is related to the study.

Lastly, and the most important material of this study are the requirements of the software which will be used in running the system. The researchers’ study is web-based. So, the researchers used Moodle in developing the system.

RECOMMENDATION

The researchers recommend the following:

  1. Developing teaching strategies that incorporate the utilization of technology by using the Online Learning System
  2. Seminars and other program related to the enhancement of technological knowledge and skill must be provided to give training background on how to use technology properly in teaching effectively.
  3. Teachers should not be threatened by technological changes but rather help promote the effective use of technology in addressing the diverse need of learner in coping the fast changing world.
  4. Students should not be resistant to technological change in order to develop the computer skills needed in the future job.
