Web and Mobile Based Ordering and Billing Application using Bootstrap, Framework7 and Apache Cordova
Project Design
The Web and Mobile Based Ordering and Billing Application will help the customers to manage their orders personally by having the ability to choose, firsthand, the items or food and beverages that they want to order. Simultaneously, the application software will give the customers the ability to view their running bill upon choosing the menu items of their choice. Customers will also be provided with the option to delete previously selected items on the menu if ever they change their mind. The application software will provide the final list of customer’s order and its accumulated amount. Finally, during customer bill-out request, the system will be able to send the final breakdown of the ordered items to a remote computer via Bluetooth that will serve as the official receipt of the client.
Scope and Limitations
This study focuses on providing restaurant management an ease in terms of ordering and billing for dine-in transactions.
Giving an alternative solution for manual system of ordering by means of android-based restaurant management system will provide the management a more advanced way of dealing with customers. This will provide them an option to give the customers a personalize way of ordering their preferred dishes by allowing them to view the menu items on an android-based operating system device and click first-hand what are the specific items and quantity that they want. This will make them more aware on the dishes that they want to order. Customers will also be allowed to delete menu items if ever they change their mind. Prior order confirmation, the customer will be asked by the application to review their chosen menu items and once finalized, they can confirm that this is the final order. The management will have the ability to disable items which are sold out or unavailable so that customers will know what particular items are available for that period. The system is capable of printing the official receipt during customer’s bill-out request.
After the development of the android application system, the application will be handed solely to the restaurant management. The management will be responsible in providing the tablets where the developed application will be installed.
The Web and Mobile Based Ordering and Billing Application will be made to evaluate the performance of the application based on its Functionality, Usability, Reliability, Efficiency, Portability, and Maintainability.
Significance of the Study
This study aims to provide an aid for restaurant management to easily and accurately get customers’ orders from their menu list. It also aims to give the restaurant owners an ease in terms of customer service. This application will provide the restaurant’s menu with pricelist and the running bill for the selected menu items. Given the scenario that the customer wants to modify how the menu is being done in terms of the ingredients, the researchers will provide an option for them to do it. A notes section will be provided for every menu item so that the kitchen staff will know what are the modifications does the client want. It will also provide an aid to print the receipt once the upon customer’s bill-out request by means of local Wi-Fi connection.
