Visitor Log Monitoring System User Interface in Bootstrap and PHP
This article will provide you the guide on the front-end part of the visitor log monitoring system. The project entitled Visitor Log Monitoring System is a web based system that records the visit logs in the jail. The following modules presented below are some of the forms used in the said system, the developers/researchers used Bootstrap for the user interface then converted it into PHP files.
System Modules of Visitor Log Monitoring System
Dashboard – this is the part of the site that displays the basic statistics of the system such as the number of inmates, number of jail officers, number of visitors and the total visits per day.
Inmate Record Information Module – the images below shows the list and encoding module for the information of inmates, these information includes the complete name, age, gender and the image of the inmate.
Jail Officer Information Module – images shown below are the list and encoding module for the information jail officer.
User Management Module – the system can be accessed by the administrator of the system wherein they can print-out the reports, logs and conduct maintenance to the system. The jail officer can also login to the system wherein they can encode the visitor and inmate information.
Visitors Form Information Module – visitors needs to fill-up the registration form before they can visit and enter the jail facility. The information will be encoded in the module presented below.
Visitors Attendance Log Module – this module is used to record, archive and print the visit logs. Information in this module includes the visitor name, date of visit, time of visit and purpose of visit. The image presented below is the attendance log module of the system.
Visitor Login Module – visitors’ needs to swipe their card with barcode provided by the jail, it will be used every time a visitor visits an inmate. the image below shows the login form for attendance.
How the System works
- The administrator will encode first the list of jail officer in-charge in the facility. There will be a schedule of duty for the utilization of the attendance system.
- The jail officer can now encode the list of inmates and visitors information.
- The visitor will be given an ID card with barcode that will be used in the attendance/visit.
- The report of visit logs can be printed out by the administrator of the system.
Hardware Compatibility
The system is compatible in different kind of computer desktop or laptop with a minimum hardware specification of Intel Pentium Dual Core or AMD Athlon Dual Core , Motherboard compatible with the socket of processor, 500gb hard drive, 1gb Ram, USB keyboard, USB mouse, UTP Cable for network, Router, 15.6 inches LED monitor and Barcode Reader/Scanner.
Software Compatibility
The system will work and develop in a computer with an operating system of Windows 7 or 8. The system will use WAMP as application for the database of the system because of the package that include the Apache server, MySQL, and PHP. The system will develop by used of Notepad++, JavaScript and CSS for the design and user interface. The system can be accessed in different types of web browser like Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox and Internet Explorer.
