Abstract

Scholarships provide students an opportunity to earn an education. Any organizations that provide scholarships to students are dealing with lots of paperwork. They manage different files and records of their scholars, from their profiles up to their submitted requirements for qualifications.

The researchers conducted the study to assess how scholarship organizations conduct profiling of their scholars. The researchers found out that scholarship organizations manually conduct scholar’s profiling. They use the pen and paper approach in recording the personal information of the scholars as well as the requirements they need to submit every end of the semester. In some scholarship cases, requirements are certificates of grades and enrollment.

The capstone project, “Scholar Profiling Information System,” was created specifically for scholarship organizations. The project will allow scholarship organizations to conduct scholar profiling electronically. The system will assist scholarship organizations to securely store and manage the records of the scholars.

The implementation of the system will eliminate difficulties and problems encountered in the manual scholar profiling system. The system will make scholar profiling easy and convenient to complete.

Introduction

If scholar profiling will be done manually, it requires a lot of paper works and this costs the staff to spend too much time and effort. The manual method is prone to human errors like losing the records of the students or delays in completing the process of profiling.

Proposed Solution

To address the concerns mentioned above, the researchers of the study proposed a Scholar Profiling Information System. The system will automate the process of profiling scholars. The proposed system will make the job of the scholarship committees easier by letting them conveniently process the information of the students. The scholarship committees will be able to securely store and manage the records of the scholars. The said system will remove the manual method and lessen the errors encountered by the staff who manage the records of the scholars.

Objectives of the Study

General Objective – The main goal of the project is to design and develop a system that will ease up the profiling of scholars by doing it on an electronic platform.

Specifically, the project aims the following objectives:

1. To develop a system that will serve as a repository of information of the scholars.
2. To develop a system that will streamline the process of profiling scholars.
3. The system will let scholarship organizations manage and securely store the scholar’s record electronically.
4. The system is easy, convenient, accurate, and reliable to use.

Scope of the Study

The researchers will develop an automated profiling system limited only 0to scholarship organizations. The said project will only serve as a platform of scholar profiling and a repository of scholar’s documents of qualifications and requirements. The scholarship organization’s staff will participate in the study as respondents.

Significance of the Study
