Introduction of the Study

The capstone project entitled “Web-Based Psychopathology Diagnosis System” is designed for patients and medical staff in the field of psychopathology. The system will be a centralized platform to be used by patients and psychopathologists for consultations. The said project will also keep all the records electronically.

Mental health is important. Each individual must give importance to their mental health by paying attention to it and seek medical advice if symptoms of mental disorders and unusual behavior occur. Conventionally, patients personally seek experts in the field of psychopathology wherein they visit the clinic to set appointments for a consultation. The manual method is not ideal for patients and psychopathologists may encounter physical barriers and time constraints. A need for an effective and efficient system of consultation is needed.

Proposed Solution

To address the aforementioned concerns, the researchers of the study proposed a Web-based Psychopathology Diagnosis System to be used by patients and experts in psychopathology. The system will allow automated consultation between the patient and the psychopathologist. The patient can schedule their consultation appointment with an available psychopathologist and slot using the system. The psychopathologist also can provide their service as well as keep their patient’s record electronically. The proposed system will eliminate the physical barriers and time constraints encountered in the manual process. The Web-based system will enable psychopathologist consultation easy, fast and convenient.

Objectives of the Study

General Objective – The main goal of the project is to design and develop a web-based system to be used for psychopathology consultation.

The project specifically aims the following objectives:

1. To design and develop a system that will serve as a platform for psychopathology consultations.
2. To system will help patients to conveniently book their psychopathology consultation.
3. The system will assist the psychopathologist to address the queries of the patients.
4. The system will allow electronic record keeping which is safe and secure.
5. To develop a system that will enable psychopathology consultations fast, easy and convenient.

Significance of the Study

The success of the project is deemed beneficial to the following individuals or groups:

Psychopathologist. The success of the project will help them be more effective in providing service in their field of expertise. The system will assist them in attending to their patient’s needs. The system will also help them keep the medical records of their patients securely.

Patients. The system will help them to conveniently avail psychopathology consultation which is very important for their mental health.

Researchers. The success of the project will be charged to their experience as developers. Their experiences in conducting the project will further improve their knowledge and skills.

Future Researchers. The study will serve as their guide if they wish to develop their own psychopathology consultation system.

Conclusion

Taking care of one’s mental health is an important activity that highly needs an effective and efficient system. The researchers conducted the study to assess the current system of psychopathology consultation. The study showed that there are problems and difficulties encountered in the existing system which need to be solved. To address the aforementioned problems, the researchers of the study developed a Web-based psychopathology system. The result of the study showed that the developed system met the needs and requirements of the respondents and intended users. The system solved the issues and concerns encountered in the manual process of psychopathology consultation.

The researchers of the study concluded that the implementation of the developed system will significantly benefit patients and psychopathologists for their consultation. The system will allow both parties to conveniently process their appointments, records, and consultation. The developed system is indeed an efficient and effective consultation system.

The proponents of the projects highly recommend the implementation of the Web-based Psychopathology Consultation System. The developed system has great potential in completely eliminating the manual method of psychopathology consultation. The researchers highly recommend the use of the system to assist patients and psychopathologists in the consultation process. The system will also keep all records of transactions electronically which is safe and secure. The intended users of the system should be armed with knowledge in order to correctly utilize the developed system.

The researchers specifically recommend the following:
