Introduction of the Study
The capstone project “Mobile Based Common Ailment Guide with Admin Panel” that allow users to access guide about common ailments. The mobile-based application will contain information on how to treat common ailments such as headache, stomach ache, cough and others by using approved herbal medicines.
Most of the time when Filipinos are suffering from common ailments they tend to look for local remedies rather than directly consult a professional. Most of the time, they don’t have a reliable source to determine which treatments are effective for a particular ailment, so they depend on the experiences and advice of others to determine what to do if they have a cough, headache, or other illness. A lot of people still lack on knowledge about things to do whenever they are suffering one of the common ailments.
Proposed Solution
To address the above issues, the researcher’s aims to create a mobile-based common ailment guide with an admin panel that will guide people through the proper treatment of various common ailments. The application will have list of common ailments along with the approved local remedies. By having this platform, the users will have a credible source of information and not just simply rely on word-of-mouth. The application will have an admin panel responsible for managing and securing that the information displayed are accurate and reliable.

Objectives of the Study
General objective – the general objective of the study is to develop an Android-based Common Ailment Guided that will be used to diagnose common medical problems and prescribe proper medication.
Specific Objectives
Specifically, the project aims the following objectives:
- To design a guide for users on how to treat common ailments.
- Develop and app that display information coming from experts about the proper medical treatment.
- To provide an accessible and available source of information regarding common ailments.
- The application will be simple, reliable and easy to use.
- Complete the development of the system according to the timeframe or project schedule.
- To produce documentation that records the phases, task and deliverables of the study.
Significance of the Study
The following individuals or group are the beneficiaries of the project:
End-users. end-users are those who use this application. They will no longer need to find it in the internet that took several times or just guessing base on others experiences in treating their ailment. The application contains all of the information about the proper treatment of the illness.
Doctors/Health Professionals. Application will help them lessen patients to attend to especially those who only have common ailments and focus more on patients having severe health problems.
Researchers. The success of the project will contribute to their knowledge and experience as a team in developing a mobile application that links to a web based program.
Future Researchers. Output of the study will serve as their baseline in pursuing their own version of the project.
Development Tools
The proposed capstone project on mobile based common ailment will be developed in two form; mobile app for the end-users and web panel for the administrator and management.
Mobile Application Development – the researchers may choose to use Java, Kotlin or Flutter for the mobile application. The mobile application will run and work in an offline setting and can also connect to the admin panel to update the contents of the app.
Web Admin Panel – this is the centralized records of the project. It will be developed in PHP, MySQL/MariaDB and Bootstrap. Admin panel is where the records are updated so that the mobile app users can download the updated information on their smartphone.
