Chapter 3 Mobile Application for Hotel Reservation System Using Android Technology
3.1 Introduction
Mobile Application for Hotel Reservation System Using Android Technology the proponents will going to build and troubleshoot for all the problems previously mentioned in problem specification. The system will be implementing with more additional features that will support in achieving future goals of the hotel.
The system database will store all the details and information about the reservations, guests, room services/types and staff details in a convenient manner. Database makes retrieval of data efficient and accurate. Reservations of the hotel can be done in a single click. After checking availability for rooms, single or group reservation can be made after entering details. System has a function to automatically calculate the bill according to the predefined charges set to items and rooms. Security is provided to our system by having database backup and restores system. The customer can create an account in order to make a reservation.
The proponent is going to upgrade the quality of the hotel and simplifies the matters or the problem of the current manual system.
3.2 System Design Specification
The Software Design Specification will provide a detailed description of the requirements for the Mobile Application for Hotel Reservation System Using Android Technology. This SDS will allow for a complete understanding of what is to be expected of the Online Hotel Reservation using Android to be constructed. The clear understanding of the Online Hotel Reservation using Android and its functionality will allow for the correct software to be developed for the end user and will be used for the development of the future stages of the project. This will provide the foundation for the project. From this SDS, the Online Hotel Reservation using Android can be designed, constructed, and finally tested.
The Online Hotel Reservation using Android’s objectives is to provide a system to manage a hotel rooms. Without automation the management of the hotel has become an unwieldy task. The end users day-to-day jobs of managing a hotel will be simplified by a considerable amount through the automated system. The system will be able to handle many services to take care of all customers in a quick manner. The system should be user appropriate, easy to use, provide easy recovery of errors and have an overall end user high subjective satisfaction.
3.2.1 Overview
The Overall Description will describe the requirements of the Mobile Application for Hotel Reservation System Using Android Technology from a general high level perspective.
3.2.1.1 The Overall Description
Describes the general factors .This section does not state specific requirements. Instead it provides a background for those requirements, and makes them easier to understand.
3.2.1.2 Hardware Interfaces
The Mobile Application for Hotel Reservation System Using Android Technology will be placed on PC’s throughout the hotel and Android phones for customers.
3.2.1.3 Software Interfaces
All databases for the Mobile Application for Hotel Reservation System Using Android Technology will be configured using MySQL. These databases include hotel rooms and customers information. These can be modified by the end users. The room database will include the room numbers and if they are vacant or occupied. The customers information database will contain all the information of the customer such as first name, last name, number of occupants, assigned room, default room rate (may be changed), phone number, whether or not the room is guaranteed, e-mail address, expected check in date and time, actual check in date and time, expected check out date and time, amount owed by customer, and abbreviated customer feedback.
