Electronic Bulletin Board for SLSU Gumaca

According to Briane (Feb. 2013), as the trend of technology rises, there is a lot of improvement and other modifications has been taken place in every technology systems that are existing. Through the creative thinking of the people nothing is impossible when it comes to developing or improving new technology. Delaying information using communication devices, equipments and gadgets is not new anymore in the world of communication. It is very important to be transmitted must reach its recipient in the shortest possible time in order to obtain the essence of the information. A bulletin board (pin board, pin board, notice board, or notice board in British English) is a surface intended for the posting of public messages, for example, to advertise items wanted or for sale, announce events, or provide information. Bulletin boards are often made of a material such as cork to facilitate addition and removal of messages, or they can be placed on computer networks so people can leave and erase messages for other people to read and see. Bulletin boards are particularly prevalent at universities. They are used by many sports groups and extracurricular groups and anything from local shops to official notices. Dormitory corridors, well-trafficked hallways, lobbies, and freestanding kiosks often have cork boards attached to facilitate the posting of notices. At some universities, lampposts, bollards, trees, and walls often become impromptu posting sites in areas where official boards are sparse in number. Internet forums are becoming a global replacement for traditional bulletin boards. Online bulletin boards are sometimes referred to as message boards. The terms bulletin board, message board and even Internet forum are interchangeable, although often one bulletin board or message board can contain a number of Internet forums or discussion groups. An online board can serve the same purpose as a physical bulletin board. Magnet boards, or magnetic bulletin boards.

According to Sahjoy (October 2013), Queuing System is a large LCD monitor which displays queues for the counter serving process and important messages from the school admin of Westmead International School. It will improve and organize the old practice of counter serving that was already used for a very long time in almost all schools and replace the traditional paper leaf announcement bulletin board.

SMS Based Electronic Bulletin Board

According to Rommel Regis (January 2013), the project deals about an advanced hi-tech wireless bulletin board. Installing Bulletin Boards (i.e. Dot Matrix Display Board) in institutions / schools embedded with SMS technology will help the school, organization and students lessen the burden of putting announcements on papers and posting them on boards around the campus which Leyte Normal University has been doing for years now. Though LNU has now an Information Board, not all students can receive the announcements through text messages. OSA Organization Adviser =Yes =No Faculty/Staff LNU
InfoBoard Methodology The method used in this study is a descriptive method. The researchers used the interview and survey method aided with questionnaires in collecting the data required. This is for the researchers to be able to determine the views and opinion of the students about the proposed system. This will also be used to acquire their reactions about the current way of disseminating announcements.

Interactive Bulletin Board

The bulletin board is used to post information for the students. It is essential for the distribution of important information inside the school. Although the traditional bulletin boards are often effective in transmitting information, some data may be lost in some instance. Sometimes the pins, pastes, and tapes are not enough to hold the posters and papers for the bulletin. The bulletin board can be destroyed by naughty students who like vandalisms writing unnecessary notes on the posters. Too much post may also look unorganized and some post are covered with another post. Since the school is developed for the students, the AMACU Interactive Access can give the information needed by the students easily. With its user friendly interface, any user with basic knowledge on computers can operate the system. The system will display the examination schedules, list of TY2S, list of Deans Lister, the active organization of the school, the organizational chart, the courses offered by the school, steps on enrollment and the school map. The proponents desire to enhance the traditional bulletin boards by implementing an interactive bulletin board entitled “AMACU Interactive Access”. With this system, the user can interact with the system. It offers a better presentation of information, immediate response to the needs of the students and other users and the data will always be updated. The proposed system is another tool that can be used in data distribution and gathering process and is only intended to set a trend and contribute to the technological advancement of the school.

Display Message on Notice Board using GSM

Department of Electronics and Telecommunications, Mumbai University, S.P.I.T, Andheri West, Mumbai, INDIA.

According to Foram Kandar, et al, Noticed board is primary thing in any institution or organization or public utility places like bus stops, railway stations or parks. But sending various notices day to day is a tedious process.

It presents an SMS based notice board incorporating the widely used GSM to facilitate the communication of displaying message on notice board via user’s mobile phone. Its operation is based on microcontroller ATMEGA32 programmed in assembly language. A SIM300 GSM modem with a SIM card is interfaced to the ports of the microcontroller with the help of AT commands. When the user sends a SMS via a registered number from his mobile phone, it is received by SIM300 GSM modem at the receiver’s end. SIM300 is duly interfaced through a level shifter IC MAX32 to the microcontroller. The messaged is thus fetched into the microcontroller. It is further displayed on an electronic notice board which equipped with LCD display interfaced to microprocessor powered by a regulated power supply from mains supply of 230 volts ac. This project is our experiment on real time noticing.

Secure Method of Updating Digital Notice Board through SMS

With Pc Monitoring System

By: Jawaharlal Darda Institute of Engineering& Technology,Yavatmal

According to Mayur R. Bhoyar1, et al, this is the model for displaying notices in colleges on digital notice board by sending messages in form of SMS through mobile; it is a wireless transmission system which has very less errors and maintenance. The hardware board contains microcontroller AT89c52 at the heart of the system. The microcontroller is interfaced with GSM Modem via MAX232 level convertor. It is used to convert RS232 voltage levels to TTL voltage levels and vice versa. The hardware also has a 64K EEPROM chip AT24C64. This EEPROM is used to store the timings and messages to be displayed. Hardware also contains a real time clock DS1307 to maintain track of time. A 16×2 Character LCD display is attached to microcontroller for display. Microcontroller coding will be done using Embedded C and Kiel. PC Coding will be done using Visual Basic. Multiple Users are authorized to update notices on the digital notice board by providing them password. We can use a PC with an administrator for monitoring the system.

According to C H Montgomery and P Keenan, facilitating faculty communications using an electronic bulletin board to store and organize listserv messages.

The Center for Academic Informatics of the Medical College of Pennsylvania and Hahnemann University uses BULLETIN, a public-domain bulletin board system for VMS, to facilitate communication between our faculty and staff and their colleagues at other institutions. In conjunction with the VAX electronic mail program, BULLETIN can store and organize messages from Internet listserv mailing lists. The software allows us to set up individual folders within BULLETIN for each list of interest to our users. This means that they do not have to sift through “lists of lists” in order to find the ones that coincide with their interests. Another significant advantage is that users’ electronic mailboxes do not become cluttered with postings from a variety of lists, interfering with their ability to read and respond to their “real” electronic mail. Yet they can still post to lists, and the posting will be sent from their user name and electronic address. BULLETIN also offers a natural structure for setting up interest groups where local users can post announcements, questions, and answers.

Synthesis

The proposed project study entitled “LCD Based Bulletin Board System with SMS Notification”. Like the other related literature, this study was also conducted in order to improve and develop the traditional method of Manual System. The system will provide fast and reliable and interactive information to the recipient of the study. The same from other studies the project also widely used to process and produce interactive information and data efficiently, reliable and interactive for the beneficiaries of the study to be more productive and effective by the use of LCD Based Bulletin Board System with SMS Notification.
