Introduction of the Study
The capstone project entitled “Cloud Based Business Permit Processing System,” aims to automate the business permit application process. The system would allow transactions for the application of new business permits as well as the renewal of existing ones.
A business permit acts as a proof that a business follows certain laws and ordinances. The manual method of securing a business permit remains difficult and time consuming. Processing business permits has too many requirements and the processing period, which may take a month or more, is a barrier that has triggered an increase in the number of business permit registrants. What the LGU needed is a faster way to transact and complete the process of securing a business permit.
Proposed Solution
The researchers of the project proposed a solution for the above mentioned problems and that is to develop a cloud based business permit processing system. The system streamlines the application process of business permits into an electronic version using cloud base which will reduce the the processing time for business permit renewals and new applications to one or two days. The system will eliminate the possibility of upsurge number of registrants. The system is an efficient tool to communicate documents to respective government department to complete the process of applying for a business permit. The proposed system is convenient and hassle- free.
Objectives of the Study
General Objective – the main purpose of this study is to design and develop a system that will eliminate the manual method of processing business permit.
Specifically, the project aims the following objectives:
- Design a cloud based business permit processing method.
- To develop a system that will automate the processing of business permit.
- The system will serve as a repository of documents required for processing business permit.
- The system will enable the documents to be access by different government agencies who are involved in the completion of the business permit.
- Evaluate the performance of the system using the ISO 25010 criteria for quality software.
Significance of the Study
The following individuals/group is benefited from the study:
Business Owners. Output of the system will help them conveniently apply for business permits and even for renewals for the existing one. They will be hassle-free in going back-and -forth to complete the requirements for it will be automated by the system.
LGU. The system will help them quickly complete the transaction of business permits and this will help them avoid surge of new applicants.
Researchers. Success of the study will help them be more creative in transitioning different manual methods into an electronic version which will be convenient for the general public.
Future Researchers. The study will help them in making their own version of business permit processing system.
