Barangay Health Center Information System
INTRODUCTION
The Barangay Health Center is using a manual system in terms of implementing medical services, health programs, health monitoring and profiling. These transactions as implemented by a midwife in-charge in a barangay health station are done manually.
The different processes involved in health programs are: immunization, tuberculosis, and family planning; medical services involve medical care, consultation, child care, postpartum, and prenatal; health monitoring involves users, early childhood care and development, morbidity, and animal bite; and profiling involves family profile.
PROJECT CONTEXT
The implementation of the Barangay Health Center Information System provides a quicker and more systematic way to records the medical information of the patients. It also provides reliable and secured personal medical records.
The system will include the Patients medical records such as the name of the patients, gender, birthdate, age, birth place, contact number, address, nationality, status, occupation, guardian, and guardian add purok, weight, temperature, blood pressure, sickness, medicines received. This information will be stored on the centralized database server so every time the authorize person will do checking the personal medical records information of the patients; it will be easy for them to do it.
PURPOSE AND DESCRIPTION
The proposed Barangay Health Center Information System simply improves the consistency of the consultation process; of the Barangay Dian-ay health center it will increases performance of medical personnel through its system generated consultation.
Every consultations/any transactions of the patients will be recorded or stored into a database including the monitoring and updating the Patient health records, how many patient accommodated daily, sickness/complaints report, and the medicines released.
The reasons of implementing Barangay health center recording information system are to serve its purpose:
- To provide a system that will help health center give a better service to the community it is serving in the said Barangay.
- To provide a more systematic way of manipulating all the information gathered from Patients/community whose it is serving.
- To help the health center of Barangay Dian-ay continually do their mission, vision, and goals through providing their services fully hearted to the Patient/Community of the Barangay Dian-ay for the medication/treatments.
Barangay Health Center information System is very useful to both the Barangay Health Center and to the Patients. To monitor all the Patients health records is very necessary. Through this system it provides satisfaction & better service to the beneficiary/community it is serving.
OBJECTIVES
The Researcher aim to propose a system to the Health to make their Patients medical records would be systematically and securely done.
Listed below are the Opportunities that can be achieved when using Barangay Health Center Information System:
- Avoid tampering and loss of important documents/records of information.
- Ability to easy navigate and manipulate the gathered medical records from the patients in the said Barangay.
- Ability to provide a better service and satisfaction to the people.
- Ability to monitor common sickness
- Ability to provide patients sickness/illness history
SCOPE AND LIMITATION
The system will be used in to:
- Provide the city health users to access locally the patient consultation profile.
- Verify and track patients’ profile.
- Reduce hours spent retrieving a patients’ record.
- Display the status and update of services offered to each barangay.
- Maintain a systematic approach to consultation such as medical.
- Generate comparative reports of illness in a month or a year.
The system is intended to the persons who have direct involvement in the processing of health programs, medical services, monitoring and profiling. These are the following:
Nurse
They are being an in-charge of the medical services and health programs in barangay; they must have been trained and oriented in the system to use them correctly.
Barangay Health Workers
In the absence of the midwife in-charge they must take over the tasks of the midwife. System functions must be explained and demonstrated to them properly.
