Tourist destinations are barred from opening, and travel restrictions are also imposed. These are precautionary steps taken to prevent the spread of contagious diseases. However, as the countries gradually reopen the tourist industry; travel-related firms are being forced to adapt to operate securely and comfortably for their clientele. As can be seen in today’s world, practically everyone owns a smartphone. The majority of people use this technology to help them with their daily tasks. A plethora of essential applications has been implemented, allowing users to swiftly and conveniently navigate their tasks, such as bookings and appointments, shopping, and other activities. This opportunity can be adopted by travel agencies. Conventionally, Travel agencies provide their services manually, allowing clients to visit their offices to inquire about travel packages, which is unsuccessful in reaching a wider variety of clients. Due to a shortage of information sources, travelers also had difficulty finding travel and events packages that are worthwhile and will satisfy their vacation experience. Today’s travel industry competition is fierce, requiring travel agencies to improve their services for the comfort of their consumers as well as the growth of their business. The researchers will address these concerns by developing an application using Flutter. The capstone project, entitled “Travel App in Flutter” will allow end-users to browse for travel destinations and book right away. The users will only need to download and install the application, create their accounts and they will be able to book for travel. The application will eliminate the need to visit travel firms or agencies for bookings instead they can book easily and conveniently at the comfort of their home. The researchers will use the cross-platform for developing android and iOS applications to develop the project. The target users of the application are those who are fond of traveling.
Introduction of the Study
The use of technology allows businesses to operate even in the face of extreme conditions such as the COVID-19 pandemic. The capstone project, dubbed “Travel App in Flutter” is an application designed to ease and streamline client inquiries and booking of travel and tour packages. The aforementioned project will enable travel firms to conduct business in a simple and timely manner while keeping their clients’ comfort and safety in mind. The solution would allow travel agents and their customers to conduct online transactions smoothly.
Before the COVID-19 pandemic, travel agencies operated and transacted with their clients within the confines of their offices. Clients would come to the office for questions and bookings, which is time-consuming and demands a lot of effort. However, as the pandemic hits, various physical interaction limits are implemented to help prevent the spread of contagious diseases. The pandemic has posed significant challenges to the tourism industry and firms in this sector, such as travel and booking services. The pandemic makes it difficult for travelers to book for travels due to physical restrictions and it also requires valuable time and effort.
Proposed Solution
To solve the aforementioned difficulties, the study’s experts advocated the creation of the Travel Application. The researchers will create the application with the cross-platform framework flutter. The program will allow end-users to look for trip destinations and book them using the application. Travel agencies can use the program to post and market their tour packages and services, allowing them to reach a wider range of customers. It will be simpler for the client. It is easier, safer, and more convenient for them to inquire about and book tour packages. The project aims to provide a platform for clients who are in search of tours and travel-related information. The application will make travel bookings easy, fast, convenient, and efficient.
Objectives of the Study
General Objective – the researchers generally aim to implement an application that will streamline travel bookings.
Specifically, the researchers aim the following objectives:
- To introduce an application that will streamline browsing of travel destinations.
- To let travelers book travel tours and packages electronically.
- To book travels in a fast and convenient way.
- To eliminate the need to spend time and effort to book for travels.
- To evaluate the system in terms of user acceptability, efficiency, quality, productivity, portability, and reliability.
Scope of the Study
This study is all about the development process of the Travel Application developed using the Flutter framework. The application is limited on allowing travelers to browse for travel destinations conveniently at the comfort of their homes. They would not need to personally visit travel agencies to book travels instead they will only need to download and install the application on their phones and create their accounts. The application is only for travel agencies and travelers.

The researchers undertook this study to analyze the obstacles that travel agents encountered before and after the pandemic epidemic. According to the findings, respondents scored the application favorably in terms of user acceptability, efficiency, quality, productivity, portability, and reliability. It is an effective platform for allowing travel agents to maintain operations while providing their clients with a secure environment for transactions.
