IPO Model Conceptual Framework of Restaurant Food Delivery System
This article is a tutorial on how to create a conceptual for a Restaurant Food Delivery System. The researchers will use the input, process and output (IPO) model to create the conceptual framework.
Introduction

Technology is considered a modern enabler. It allows people to accomplish the task with just a few clicks of their fingertips. The capstone project, entitled ” Restaurant Food Delivery System” is designed to digitally transform food order and delivery systems. The platform will allow different restaurants to operate online and continue to offer delicious foods to their customers. The said project will streamline the management of customers’ orders and food deliveries.
The COVID-19 pandemic has greatly affected businesses and one of these is the food restaurant businesses. Restaurants have come to a point where they are closed down due to the pandemic. They suffered from financial losses that greatly affect their business operation. Before the pandemic, some restaurants have already evaded and adapted the use of online platforms along with food delivery services.
About the Project
In this system, customers can order food from restaurants and have it delivered to their homes or places of work. Use a computer or smartphone to order food, and a network of couriers to get it there.
Getting food from a restaurant is becoming more and more popular because it’s easy and quick to do. If you live in a place where getting out of the house is difficult, these apps are also very popular. You can order food without having to leave your house.
There are many types of restaurant food delivery systems, but the most common one is the one that is done through an online service. In these systems, customers use a computer or a mobile phone to get into the system and order things. People who work for a delivery service then pick up the food and deliver it to customers.
Objectives of the Study
- To design a platform that will allow restaurants to electronically market their business.
- To efficiently streamline food delivery details.
- To electronically manage records of food orders and food deliveries.
- To provide delivery drivers with an organized list of their food deliveries.

IPO Model Conceptual Framework of Restaurant Food Delivery System
Input
The input phase or the knowledge requirement stage consists of the following:
- Research on the background of the study – the researchers conducted a research on the scope of the procurement system
- Find out what they need.
The need for a restaurant food delivery system is clear in the food delivery business now. Many restaurants don’t have their own food delivery system. Instead, they use third-party food delivery services to get food to people. These services aren’t always reliable, and they don’t always offer the same level of service as restaurants. System: A restaurant food delivery system would give restaurants more control over the delivery of their foods, making it easier for them to plan deliveries.
- Find out what’s wrong.
The main problem with the current food delivery system is that it isn’t always on time, which is bad. There are times when restaurants have to wait for a long time for their food to arrive, and this can be a lot of work. This would make it easier for restaurants to schedule deliveries, and it would make sure that the food was delivered on time.
- Find out what the answer is.
Unreliable food delivery can be solved by setting up a system for restaurants to send food to people. This would make it easier for restaurants to schedule deliveries, and it would make sure that the orders would arrive on time.
- User Requirement – the researchers identified the features of the system based on the needs of the users.
- Interview and Observation method – the researchers conducted an interview and observations to be able to understand better the project on procurement system.
- Development Tools and Technique – the researchers will need to select a set of development tools suited to the requirements of the project.
- Review of Related Literature – the researchers conducted a research on the different literatures and related systems to serve as a guide in the development of the procurement system.
Process
- Planning and Analysis
During Planning and Analysis phase, the researchers made an interview with the different restaurants about their delivery system. After conducting the data gathering, the researchers made an initial design for the proposed system.
- Data Analysis
All information was analysed by the researchers. This phase also helped the researchers to have an idea on how to build and help conceptualize on how the proposed system would be beneficial.
- Prototype Cycle
This stage includes design, development and testing from the information that has been gathered and analysed. The researchers started to develop the proposed system. It includes the design on how the system would look like based on the user requirements and research. In development stage, the researchers collected all the data that has been gathered to build the prototype. In testing phase the researchers tested the function of the system, the flow on how it works the feedback process of the proposed system had undergone testing by the three (3) Experts and its intended users. It informs the developers if they have any suggestion and flaws of the system functionality.
- Testing
This is the feedback process of the proposed system after it was implemented and undergone testing by the three Experts and its intended users. It informs the developers if they have any suggestion and flaws of the system functionality.
- Implementation
This phase discussed the implementation of the proposed system which was evaluated by the three (3) Experts. It also discussed if the recommended suggestions of the respondents and users had met.
Output
A new project called Restaurant Food Delivery System will be born. The researchers will implement and maintain the system for it to survive for a long period of time.
There are many advantages and benefits of restaurant food delivery system. Some of the key benefits are as follows:
- It helps in reducing the workload of the restaurant staff.
- It helps in improving the customer satisfaction level.
- It helps in improving the efficiency of the restaurant operations.
- It helps in reducing the cost of the restaurant operations.
- It helps in improving the food quality of the restaurant food.
Summary
This article concentrated on the conceptual framework for the Restaurant Food Delivery System. The conceptual foundation of the study is based on the input, process, and output (IPO) model. The input phase consists of research on the study’s background, user requirements, interview and observation methods, development tools and techniques, and a review of related literature. After finishing the input phase, the researchers will move on to the process phase, which will employ the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) technique. The SDLC technique consists of several stages, including Planning and Analysis, Data Analysis, Prototype Cycle, Testing, and Beta Implementation. A new project called Restaurant Food Delivery System will be born. The researchers will deploy and maintain the system to ensure its long-term viability.
